Hi guys! How’s it going?
I’m struggling to find the words today. I’ve been procrastinating all morning, and now it is almost noon with very little to show for it. Procrastination wins again, but at least I’m typing now.
New Steps
I recently posted the first installment of my Relocation Series. See my blog for the first segment.
I also posted an article on Medium about setting a keystone habit. Check it out here.
I have worked on some editing on my short story titled Forge and Vine. I hope to have it completed and do some research for query by the end of June.
The Breakdown
I just recently started listening to this podcast. It is put on by Nathan Isaac, who is a resident of Somerset, Kentucky, which incidentally is only two hours from me now. I may have to take a drive down there. The podcast discusses all of the odd happenings in the Penny Royal plateau area, which covers a large portion of Kentucky. I became aware of Nathan Isaac through the Hellier documentary. During the second season Greg Newkirk interviewed him and he was telling them stories about the area. The Penny Royal plateau is full of quartz, running water, and caves which connects to the Mammoth Cave system. It is also bisected by the 37th parallel and there is also a dip in the Van Allen belts over this area, which are models of the magnetic fields which surround the earth. The theory is that the combination of these features cause hallucinations and other disruptions of the human brain leading to some odd reports of paranormal type activity.
This kind of stuff fascinates me. I’m not sure what all I believe, other than to say that there is weirder shit out there than any of us know. I am a huge weirdo. I am a patreon of the Travelling Museum of the Paranormal and the Occult, which Greg and Dana Newkirk run. I am also still obsessed with the Hellier documentary which currently has two seasons and can be watched here ad free, or on YouTube or Prime.
Living Life
I continue my job search. For the moment, I am trying to focus on writing, building healthy habits, and exploring my new home. I say trying because it is really easy to let myself think of this as an extended vacation. And vacation to me always means no alarms clocks and very little responsibility. I am trying to be responsible and not let the days get away from me through YouTube and fiction reading comas.
That’s all for this week. I’ll keep you posted.
As always, thanks for checking out the site and I hope everyone is doing well. If you feel so inclined, check out my social media and head over to Medium for exclusive content.
