Hello. How is everything going?
Things are going to be a little different this month. Because I am participating in Camp NaNoWriMo, my check ins are going to be short and sweet. Mostly a current word count and a short paragraph about any set-backs and any wins.
My current word count for the month is: 2535 words. That means I have: 12,465 to go to meet my 15,000 word goal.
I had a huge day yesterday (see 2535 word count), so I’m starting off well. My goal for today is to log another 2500 words. I don’t know if it will happen because I have a bunch of everyday life stuff that is also on my to do list. We’ll see how much I can knock off. Writing and posting this check in on the website and on social media are a couple things to check off that list.
I’m currently in the process of making potato salad. I figured I’d bang this out while the potatoes and eggs are cooling. Firstly, to multitask (which is also why my clothes are in the washer right now), secondly because it is a good metric to limit the time I take. I have set a timer for twenty minutes which is all the time I am allotting to do this.
Question: Who puts eggs in their potato salad? I do. Is this a mid-west thing? Or, I guess, actually a California thing since that is where my mom is from, and she’s who taught me to make it? People from other parts of the country who I’ve chatted with this about (admittedly a very small group of people) do not and the premade salads in the grocery store never have egg in them. Is that maybe a shelf-life thing or an allergy thing? I know some people are allergic to eggs, but that doesn't make sense because potato salad almost always has mayonnaise. For those who don’t know, mayo has egg in it, unless it is vegan…
Am I really rambling about potato salad and eggs?
And right there folks is a perfect example of how the procrastination fairy can bamboozle you!
And my timer just went off, and I still have to post this! Gahh! So, I’m going to end this before I start talking about something really random like rating quality of stickiness between different brands of sticky notes… yes, this is something I am actually concerned with.
